Commencing Wednesday 11 October in Cremorne, Lifeline will be offering 9 week ‘Managing Your Feelings’ skills groups for adults with mild to moderate intellectual disability, who are experiencing symptoms of anxiety or depression.
The sessions will be conducted at the Centre for Disability Studies in Cremorne. Key components covered will include Mindfulness skills to stay focused on the present moment; skills to recognize and regulate emotions, thoughts and actions; and skills to build helpful thoughts and behaviours.
There will be no cost to participants, but a referral from a GP to the SNPHN Mental Health Triage will be required in order to attend.
Funding for groups is provided by Sydney North Primary Health Network.
