There are many ways of helping Lifeline. Volunteers can make a real difference in the community as crisis supporters or in other roles.
Volunteer as a Telephone Crisis Supporter
Lifeline Harbour to Hawkesbury is one of 42 centres around Australia providing volunteers to answer the 13 11 14 crisis support line 24 hours a day, every day of the year. At our centre, we have around 180 active volunteer Telephone Crisis Supporters and the team answers more than 34,000 calls each year.
With the ever increasing stresses of daily life and increasing numbers of calls, there is always a need for more telephone crisis supporters to assist callers with a wide variety of issues, including loneliness, relationships, domestic violence, abuse, gambling, drugs and alcohol mental health and suicide.
