Louise Owens from the READ ME blogsite, recently visited our Hornsby Book Depot.
Louise stated during her visit, “I saw lots of lovingly cleaned stacks of Beatrix Potter books, Ladybird books, Georgette Heyer books, Agatha Christies and classics ready to be sold. Goody! Collectable books from 1700s to 1940s are sometimes donated and the volunteers check trading prices on the internet and then price them well within buying range. Biggles books are ever popular and a few years ago the Lindfield book sale uncovered a very early Bible bringing in a $2,000 sale. Once World War 1 photos were found sandwiches between the pages of a donated book. The photos had an address on the back and the book fair co-ordinator returned them to a very appreciative daughter of the man in the photos.
