Congratulations to our Hornsby Book Fairs group on another fantastic Hunters Hill Book Fair.
Commented Team Leader Bob Page, “Despite the inclement weather, we had a really good roll up both days and this was reflected in the amount raised by the fair. Another outstanding result.”
Dedicated to the memory of a dearly loved team member
In his opening remarks to the assembled volunteers on Saturday morning, just prior to the opening of the Fair’s doors, Bob had dedicated the Fair to the memory of Anthea Meggitt, the Hornsby group’s Category Leader for CDs and DVDs, who very sadly passed away recently.
Thank you, Hunters Hill!
Well done, and a big thank you to the local Hunters Hill and environs community, for braving the showers and dark clouds and coming along and supporting Lifeline on both days.
Thank you also, to our book team volunteers…
And our thanks to the nearly 100 Lifeline book volunteers without whose efforts both at the fair, and over the last several months, big book fairs like Hunters Hill just would not be possible.
…and our corporate supporters!
Huge thanks also to the teams from supporting organisations Wrigley Australia, Commonwealth Bank and the Young Australian Chinese Charity Foundation who came along and helped make light work of our load-outs and load-ins and post-Fair pack-up. ‘Donations’ of manpower to help us out at critical times in the putting-together and dismantling of our fairs constitute an invaluable form of corporate support, and make a huge difference to our book fair teams at times when we need to get a lot of physical work done briskly and efficiently. We really appreciate the support we receive in this way.
