On the 24th February this year, Lifeline H2H teamed up with Lifeline Northern Beaches on Sunday to host a stall at the Caber-ra Nanga Wellbeing Day event. Below are some photos captured at the event as well as a warm description of the event from Jen Gripton-Corbett.
“On Sunday 24th February I was privileged to be part of First Nations Caber-Ra Nanga Well-being Day representing Lifeline with fellow volunteers Olivia Saxon, Gill Marr, Katinga Schroeder plus 2 representatives from the Northern Beaches clinical team.
We were treated to a traditional welcoming smoke ceremony and amazed to see 2 rare black cockatoos, the indigenous people’s totem. It was an amazing spiritual experience, everyone was made to feel a real sense of belonging. Apart form the wonderful experience of connecting with the people and other organisation’s supporting this event, witnessing indigenous dance, bush walks and natural healing and indulging in a delicious paella for lunch; we were able to share important information about of lifelines services.”
We are thrilled to hear about Lifeline volunteers’ experiences in and throughout the community.
