Our Trainers
Karen Sun is an Everyday Counsellor Trainer with Lifeline Harbour to Hawkesbury Sydney, bringing a unique blend of counselling training, professional leadership experience, and deep cultural understanding of the Mandarin-speaking community.
Karen will complete her Master of Counselling in early 2026 and currently volunteers with Lifeline Connect, giving her a strong understanding of Lifeline’s values and the CARE Framework. She is also actively involved in the community as a youth mentor with the Raise Foundation and a volunteer with Listening Ear.
Prior to transitioning into the counselling profession, Karen spent 16 years at Ernst & Young (EY) as a management consultant, team leader, and mentor, supporting and guiding more than 40 colleagues through growth, change, and complex professional challenges. It was through this work that Karen recognised her natural strengths in empathy, emotional insight, and people development—leading her to pursue counselling as a vocation.
Karen is a thoughtful and skilled communicator who is deeply committed to delivering the Everyday Counsellor program in a way that is compassionate, culturally responsive, and strength-based. She is passionate about supporting individuals and communities to build confidence, connection, and practical skills for meaningful conversations around mental health and wellbeing.
